L’INDAGINE DELL’UMANO ATTRAVERSO L’ARTE DELL’ATTORE NELLA GERMANIA DI SECONDO SETTECENTO. LA TESTIMONIANZA DEI «BEYTRÄGE» E DEL «MAGAZIN ZUR ERFAHRUNGSSEELENKUNDE»
ABSTRACT. Nella Germania di secondo Settecento, politicamente ancora divisa e frazionata, ma in cerca della propria identità e unità culturali, comincia a profilarsi un modo nuovo di intendere l’arte dell’attore, sempre più e principalmente veicolo d’indagine dell’umano Sé. L’intervento intende indagare, sulla base di due pubblicazioni esemplari, come la stampa ‘registri’ e insieme coadiuvi le nuove riflessioni. La prima (in ordino cronologico) delle due testate prese in considerazione è il mensile: «Beyträge zur Theorie und Aufnahme des Theaters», fondato a Stoccarda da Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729-1781) nel 1750 (dunque ancora in epoca Illuminista). La seconda è il quadrimestrale: «Magazin zur Erfahrungsseelenkunde», fondato nel 1783 (in epoca preromantica) da Karl Philipp Moritz (1757-1793; amico di Goethe e Schiller), appassionato di teatro, aspirante attore e in ultimo professore di estetica all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Berlino. Il confronto fra le due pubblicazioni mostra bene l’evolvere e il precisarsi delle nuove concezioni estetiche.
ABSTRACT In late eighteenth-century Germany, politically still divided and fractionalized, but in search of its own cultural identity and unity, a new way of understanding the art of the actor, increasingly and primarily a vehicle for the investigation of the human Self, began to emerge. The talk aims to investigate, on the basis of two exemplary publications, how the press ‘registers’ and at the same time assists the new reflections. The first (in chronological order) of the two publications considered is the monthly: «Beyträge zur Theorie und Aufnahme des Theaters», founded in Stuttgart by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729-1781) in 1750 (thus still in the Enlightenment era). The second is the four-monthly: «Magazin zur Erfahrungsseelenkunde», founded in 1783 (in the pre-Romantic era) by Karl Philipp Moritz (1757-1793; friend of Goethe and Schiller), theater enthusiast, aspiring actor and ultimately professor of aesthetics at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts. Comparison of the two publications shows well the evolution and clarification of new aesthetic conceptions.
