TURISMO, TERRITORIO E ATTRATTIVITÀ DELLA SICILIA: LE POTENZIALITÀ DEI PARCHI NATURALI
ABSTRACT. Il lavoro prende in esame il processo di trasformazione del turismo – quale elemento
di sviluppo del territorio – che, interessato da significativi mutamenti quantitativi e qualitativi, ha
sollecitato e sollecita la necessità di attivare sinergie per rispondere sempre meglio alle nuove e mutevoli esigenze del turista postmoderno. Le zone costiere, dinamiche e permeabili ai processi di cambiamento, le zone interne, rurali e montuose, i piccoli borghi di sapore medievale e le aree archeologiche rappresentano elementi di attrazione solo se vengono sapientemente adeguati a quelli che sono i gusti e le necessità di tipo culturale del tempo presente. In aderenza a queste convinzioni vengono analizzati, in maniera particolare, i parchi naturali quali nodi propulsivi per la realizzazione di una rete socio-territoriale attraverso cui promuovere meccanismi di sviluppo endogeno e orientare il turista sia verso la riscoperta della natura, delle tradizioni e delle tipicità locali sia verso la gratificazione di quei valori intangibili che riguardano il benessere psico-fisico e gli aspetti emozionali dell’esistenza.
ABSTRACT. The essay analyzes the changes of tourism – as part of territorial development – which, affected by significant changes in quantity and quality, has urged and continues to urge the need for synergies to better meet the new and changing needs of the postmodern tourist. Coastal areas, more open to innovation, the inland areas, rural and mountainous, small villages of medieval flavor and archeological areas represent elements of attraction only if they are carefully tailored to the pleasures and cultural needs of the present time. In adherence to these beliefs, the essay analyzes, in a particular way, the natural parks, as dynamic hubs for the construction of a sociospatial network, through which promote endogenous development mechanisms and orient the tourist toward the rediscovery of nature, traditions and local specialties, as well as, toward the gratification of those intangible values that relate to the psycho-physical and emotional aspects of existence.
