PRONOUN EXPRESSION OF INSTRUMENTAL SYNTAXEMES IN MODERN UKRAINIAN

ABSTRACT. The article is devoted to the complex description of the semantic-syntactic and structural organization of the sentences with instrumental syntaxemes expressed by pronouns. The ability of the predicate to have a certain number of open positions should be fulfilled by other dependant words: the agent (subject), the object, the instrument (with the help of which the action was carried out), the addressee (to whom the action was directed) and the location (the starting point and the place of destination). In modern Ukrainian grammar the problem of semantic category of instrumentality (instrumental syntaxeme) is investigated by I.R. Vychovanets, K.H. Horodenska, A.P. Zagnitko, M.Y. Pliushch, M.V. Mirchenko, T.Y. Masytska, K.O. Bezpoyasko, O.H. Mezhov. We single out semantic varieties of instrumental syntaxemes and rank them according to the semantic types of predicates. Pronouns indirectly indicate the instruments and means relating to a particular situation, also pronouns do not contain specific names of objects and point to certain objects in a particular situation. We describe and rank central (non-prepositional instrumental case) and peripheral case (prepositional case and prepositional accusative case) of expressing the instrument. The research of instrumental syntaxemes in modern literary Ukrainian is based on materials of texts of different styles in connection with the semantic and valency types of predicates.
