INTERPRETAZIONE SIMULTANEA: UNA PANORAMICA
ABSTRACT. Il presente contributo intende offrire una panoramica sull’interpretazione simultanea, descrivendone in sintesi alcuni aspetti salienti. Dopo una riflessione sulle principali caratteristiche di questa forma di interpretazione, si passerà a delineare le strategie adottate dagli interpreti al fine di tenere il ritmo imposto dalla velocità di eloquio dell’oratore e superare i vincoli temporali pressanti, per poi concentrare l’attenzione sulla peculiare posizione dell’interprete nell’evento comunicativo di cui fa parte. Verranno inoltre passate in rassegna le principali “discrepanze” che si possono riscontrare tra il testo di partenza e quello di arrivo e infine si porrà l’accento sull’importanza del contesto nell’interpretazione simultanea.
ABSTRACT. This article seeks to provide an overview of simultaneous interpretation, by briefly describing some of its salient features. Starting from some remarks on the main characteristics of this kind of interpretation, it then goes on to outline the strategies which interpreters commonly use in order to keep the pace with speaker’s speech rhythm and overcome time pressure. The reader will be also provided with a focus on the peculiar role interpreters play within the communicative event of which they are part. Furthermore, the main departures between source text and target text are reviewed and finally the importance of context during simultaneous interpretation is highlighted.
