FILIPPO BARTOLONE’S CHRIST

ABSTRACT. Nonostante l’assenza di un testo dedicato monograficamente a Cristo, nei suoi scritti Filippo Bartolone ha comunque tratteggiato una netta e coerente delineatio Christi, articolata attorno a quattro fuochi tematici: il buon Samaritano, il Gethsemani, l’Ecce homo, il Sepolcro vuoto. Questa sagoma di Cristo viene originalmente caratterizzata dal filosofo messinese in una prospettiva pienamente kenotica, ossia come la potenza (dýnamis) divina che attua la risurrezione in quanto svuotamento dell’autosvuotamento.

ABSTRACT. Despite the absence of a text dedicated monographically to Christ, in his writings Filippo Bartolone has nevertheless outlined a clear and consistent delineatio Christi, articulated around four thematic focuses: the good Samaritan, the Gethsemani, the Ecce homo, the empty Holy Supulchre. This profile of Christ is originally characterized by the Messinese philosopher in a fully kenotic perspective, that is, as the divine power (dýnamis) that carries out the resurrection as the emptying of self-emptying.
